The Center of Individualized Medicine (CIM) is delighted to announce that Josh Denny, M.D., CEO of the National Institutes of Health's (NIH) All of Us Research Program will be the CIM Grand Round's guest speaker on May 2nd at noon CT, in Phillips Hall, Siebens Building, Mayo Clinic in Rochester, or register to join the presentation by Zoom.

Dr. Denny will discuss the All of Us Research Program, a multimillion-dollar government research initiative. Its central goal is to bring individualized medicine to as many people in the U.S. as possible by creating a diverse, inclusive database of over one million people.

'Too often, health care is one size fits all: treatments meant for the ?average? patient may not work well for individual people, health care providers may find it difficult to coordinate care among specialists or to access all of a patient?s health information and researchers may spend lots of time and resources creating new databases for every study. The program is developing custom tools and software to help researchers analyze participant data while keeping information secure; working together, All of Us researchers, partners, and participants aim to build a better future for health care.'

Dr. Denny has been involved with the All of Us Research Program since its inception. He was a member of the Advisory Committee to the NIH Director Precision Medicine Initiative Working Group, which developed the program's initial scientific blueprint. He then led the program's initial prototyping project and the All of Us Data and Research Center. Dr. Denny was named CEO of the All of Us Research Program in January 2020.

Dr. Denny is a recognized expert in genomics, informatics, and precision medicine and is an author of more than 350 peer-reviewed publications. He is also an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine, the American Society for Clinical Investigation, and the American College of Medical Informatics.
